Accounting as a profession has wide prospects as it is an important part of business. There are opportunities for accounting graduates with the survival of business. However, accounting graduates should prepare themselves with the needs of their employer. Nowadays, academic qualifications alone is inadequate to advance further because of the many accounting graduates from various institutions. Therefore accounting graduates should be aware of the challenges in order to build their accounting profession. The objective of this research is to study the difficulties of challenges in respect to skills and personality among "Diploma Akauntansi's " semester five and six students at Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu 'adzam Shah, Politeknik Seberang Perai and Politeknik Ungku Omar. The researcher also studied the initiatives that will be taken by the respondents after graduation. This is a quantitative and qualitative research. Data is gathered through questionnairs and interviews. Descriptive and inferential statistics using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 11.5 were used to analyze the data. The results of the research showed that the difficulties in skills is that of communicating fluently in English with the lowest mean scores. For the difficulties of challenges in personality is to have a high level of integrity with the lowest mean score. The initiative that will be taken by the respondents after graduation is to choose to further their studies in Bachelor of Accounting with the highest mean score. The results also showed that there is a significant relationship between personality and skills.
