Abstract

The purpose of this case study was to identify the obedience of government servants towards the undertaking (Akujanji) that was newly introduced as a code of ethics. The objective of the study is to identify government servants’ knowledge and sensitivity on Akujanji and identify their obedience on Akujanji's content. At the same time, the study was also conducted to identify whether there are any insubordination towards the elements on Akujanji. The importance of research is to get the picture of the effectiveness Akujanji's in its initial implementation as a code of ethics. It is meant to control government servants’ quality of service. As many as 120 government servants from three organizations have been involved in this study. Instrument of the study was questionnaire and data obtained was analyzed using SPSS's version 10.0 programme to seek the min to fulfil objective that is targeted. Anova's test was conducted to identify differences in knowledge, sensitivity, obedience and insubordination between different staff organization, race and service category. Results found conclude that most government servants have recognized Akujanji, and they are responsible to compliance with all descriptors in Akujanji. However still there is some staff do not know Akujanji in details. Thus, they do not adhere to some description in the Akujanji.
