Abstract

This paper is pilot study to one studies relating to the production of entrepreneurship module that are funded by a short-term grant by KUiTTHO. Studies related to business ethics that are thought to be important to operate to businessmen because ethical works can provide a long-term profit on traders. Muhyiddin (2000) explain the importance of ethical values cultivated in business in creating a prolonged relationship between users and sellers. As such, the focus of pilot study was to see the level of knowledge, the practice and attitude of small businessman towards business ethics as basis to build the ethical module for entrepreneur. The selection of small businessman as a study subject is depend on the justification that the group generally known in facing various problems such as competition among businessmen until their business have difficulty to grow. As many as 40 small businessmen in a small town in Malaysia were involved as respondent in this study. Data was gathered using questionnaire, observation and checklist. Research results showed knowledge, practice and attitude of small businessmen which became research respondent on business ethics is moderate. Based on the observation, small businessmen comply moderately to business ethics especially Islamic business ethics.
