Abstract

GPR system can be classified based on operation domains: time domain, frequency domain and spatial domain [1]. Referring to Daniels [1], the GPR system which operating in frequency domain can be further classified based on modulation technique which are known as Stepped Frequency Continuous Wave (SFCW), Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (FMCW) and pseudorandom. Referring to GPR system, many researchers are interested in developing the GPR system based on amplitude modulation technique. This technique, used in the GPR system is classified as the time domain GPR system. However referring to the GPR system of the frequency domain, many GPR system researchers has developed the GPR system of SFCW. Among the researchers whose has developed the GPR system of the amplitude modulation are Nishimoto, Yoshida, Ogata and Tanabe [2], Shao and Bouzerdoum [3], Li, Tan, Jhamb and Rambabu [4] and Qiao, Qin, Rend and Wang [5]. On the other hand, the GPR system researchers whose has developed the SFCW GPR system are Stickley, Noon, Cherniakov and Longstaff [6], Cai, Tong, Zhong and Ji [7] and Seyfried dan Schoebel [8].
