Abstract

It is extremely important to model the heat transfer behavior in electrical machines properly at least to some degree, as it defines the cooling capability, and consequently the nominal power of the machine. Many researches have been done focusing on heat transfer studied in the steady-state only. Therefore, the main interest is focused on transient heat transfer. Heat is energy in transition under the motive force of a temperature difference, and the study of heat transfer deals with the rate at which such energy is transferred [1].
