Abstract

Waste tire rubber has been well utilized as construction material in road and pavement engineering. Meanwhile, the used of this by-product as mortar or concrete constituent started only from early 90's. Since then, strength behavior has been importantly addressed by various researchers and many experimental works has been carried out to identify the best method of dealing with waste tire rubber in order to achieve acceptable structural strength. Interest was kept arising because waste tire rubber provides good durability performance when used as the concrete constituent. This chapter discussed the past studies and experimental work done by the author, that had been published in several proceeding and journal on the inclusion of waste tire rubber in concrete.
