Abstract

There are no definite words in describing what a neighbourhood is. On the whole, surrounding environment in physical, economic and social features will influence the human population with a mixture of social demographic profiles. According to Salleh et al. [1], view of micro is on the house unit itself, whereas macro view is measured within the neighbourhood composites. The neighbourhood is considered as a specific geographic area and functions as a set of social networks. Schuck, Rosenbaum and Hawkins [2] stated that it is a spatial unit with social collaborations where occupants seek to acknowledge the common values and keep up an effective social control. Meanwhile, Salleh et al. [1] stated that neighbourhood is an area surrounding a local institution patronizes by residents containing school, mall, community hall, worship place, etc. It involves both geographical and social components. Moreover, it was further stated that neighbourhood is a place where people live together with the interaction and availability of facilities and build up infrastructure.
