As we know the demand for material such as cement, fine and coarse aggregate is high. The construction industry is become bigger and bigger each day, but nowadays the price of material are not cheap like the old days. The price is increase drastically by 30% for the past few years. This condition is affecting the price of the construction process and the price of the building that will be sells. This also promotes fraud among the contractor which they may use the low quality material or changing the material specification in order to get more profits. So this study was carried out to find the alternative material for cement to overcome highly cost material especially coarse aggregate. This project aims were to reducing the usage of natural coarse aggregate in concrete mixture and to achieve most likely equivalent strength of normal concrete mixture. Firstly, the reason why the Palm oil Kernel Shell Coarse Aggregate (PKSCA) as replacement for coarse aggregate is choose because of the shape of the shell that has a similarities with the natural coarse aggregate such as granite. The hard structural properties of PKSCA make it so suitable to replacing the natural coarse aggregate. Actually there are some researches that using a Palm Oil Kernel shell as the replacement for coarse and fine aggregate in Light Weight Concrete (LWC), and most of the research result was successful. So I do believe that this research will help a bit to solving the high demand of natural coarse aggregate. Actually the Palm Oil Kernel Shell was the by-product of the palm oil mills. After the fibre, kernel and the shell were extracted for the oil. Then, shell, fibre and other by-product will be used firing up the superheated boiler in the palm oil plants for generate steam for plants usage. The combustion of the palm oil by-product will promote the haze because the combustion will produce a flying dust and if this situation is not controlled it will lead to more natural disaster such as global warming. So it is important to us to prevent this problem from occurring. This research will prove that every waste product from agriculture can be innovated into new product to save the environment and resources.
