Nowadays, the use of nanomaterials to improve the properties of concrete is in high demand. The introduction of nanomaterials in concrete serves to increase its strength and durability. Nanomaterials are classified as materials with a particles size of less than 200 nm. In concrete research, the nanomaterials used should be at least 500 nm. The addition of nanomaterials such as nano-silica and nano-metakaolin will help to reduce the cement content by partially replacing cement on weight basis to improve the binding effect. Also, the nanomaterial helps to reduce micro pores by acting as a filler agent, thereby producing a very dense concrete which automatically reduces the growth of micro pores in Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) structures.
