Abstract

WMA is produced at a temperature range of 120°C to 140°C compared to HMA that is produced at temperature between 140°C to 180°C and compacted at temperature to 120°C to 160°C [1]. Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) technology allows the producers of hot-mix asphalt pavement material to lower the temperatures at which the materials are mixed and placed on the road. WMA promises several benefits compared to conventional HMA such as reducing energy consumption, lowering the greenhouse gas emissions, reducing of asphalt fumes during paving construction and creating a healthier work environment [1].
