Abstract

Built environment face huge challenges and opportunities in a revolutionary age. There are many current issues that affect the long-term sustainable development in the built environment. The construction, architecture and building industries are pondering to facilitate more sustainable lifestyle of our future human-made surroundings. This book brings together a group of experts to explore the issues and future potential opportunities of built environment. The book covers many different aspects of built environment such as current challenges of building designs, ways of improving the construction management and future potential technologies and tools for encouraging and developing sustainable built environment strategies. This book contains ten (10) chapters which provides a snapshot of issues in built environment described above. I acknowledge all authors for their hard work to contribute to each chapter found in this book. This book has been made possible by the all chapter authors who gave great cooperation in considering and incorporating review comments for revision of their manuscripts. Special thanks to my co-editor Dr. Nor Haslinda Abas for her calm encouragement, good humor and her willingness to guide me in preparing this book. I would also like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank other co-editors: Mr Muhamad Hanafi Rahmat, Dr. Muhammad Fikri Hasmori, Madam Nur Nasuha Abd. Salam and Assoc. Prof. Ir.
