Abstract

Since the first edition of the book was published last year, we have received multiple emails from other authors who would like to contribute their research findings into the next edition of the book. Despite our hectic schedule, the editorial team have finally managed to gather and compile 10 articles to be included into the second edition of the book. There are many issues and challenges evolved surrounding construction industry nowadays, particularly in the aspects of environment, social and economic. ‘Sustainability’ is seen as a philosophy to optimize the construction activities in a way that does not have harmful effects to environment, social and economy; which concerns with the whole cycle of the building design and construction - from inception to completion, occupation, and demolition.
