Abstract

This Master project report presents a development of PC Based Fuzzy Logic Controller for DC motor. The project consist of hardware and software parts. For hardware, Data Acquisition (DAQ) USB Card is used as interface hardware between PC and DC motor. Personel Computer (PC) with Labview is used as main software in this system. Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is design as a system controller to control DC motor movement. Flexible Robot Manipulator (FRM) is use as hardware to show the performance of DC motor. This project also presents the modelling of FRM by using System Identification to get the transfer function of a model. By using Labview, Graphical User Interface (GUI) and FLC are integrated to produce function of FRM. In this project, FRM is used to control the vibration link to point the accurate position. FLC has been used to get the better performance of vibration control through feedback signal upon FRM. Meanwhile, the strain gauge and encoder are devices act to produce the feedback signal for FRM. Result of this project is a graph output of strain gauge and encoder can be compared between using FLC and without FLC experiment of vibration control.
