Abstract

In education, there are a number of teaching methods that have been introduced today. The purpose of this dissertation is to evaluate the effectiveness of Computer Assisted Learning Module (CALM) in the Alternate Current AC) and Direct Current(DC) Generator subject in assisting students to explore the suitability of subject contents, design, level of motivation as well as moral values. Respondent for this dissertation consist of 5 lecturers and 50 students of Certificate of Electrical Technology at the Kolej Komuniti Bandar Darulaman, Jitra, Kedah which were chosen randomly. The instrument used is questionnaires, where the evaluation was done over the perception of respondents towards the CALM module. The data collected were then analyzed using Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 11.0 which represent the mean score. From the analysis the level of adaptability of the content, design, motivation and moral values from the students' and lecturers' perception are on the 'highest' level. It shows the CALM produced, can be an appropriate learning tools and teaching resource.Therefore, it is suggested that this kind of the module should be introduced in all subjects taught in Community Colleges in Malaysia.
