Abstract

The overloading of cafeteria wastewater into the drainage system is not a sustainable practice in terms of environmental and public health. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of evaluating the availability of the microalga Scenedesmus sp in removing nutrients from cafeteria wastewater through bioremediation. The results- deduced that concentration 4 (1.213x10 6 cell/mL) of microalgae Scenedesmus sp. gave the highest TOC removal at 73.36%. TN removal achieved 90.78% by using concentration 5(1.203x106celUm~o) f minoalgae. The low percentage removal was observed for PO4 -3 at concentration 1(1.235x10 6 cell/mL)at 8 am. and concentration 2 (1.224x10 6 cell/mL) at 4 p.m. with the range of 33.09-35.9%
