Abstract

Concern on numerous studies of flux switching machine (FSM) without aim to realize into a real application, this paper presents the analysis of small scale 12S-14P outer-rotor hybrid excitation flux switching machine (OR-HEFSM) with an aim for direct drive development. The attractive of the design which are constructed with two flux source, namely flux excitation coil (FEC) and permanent magnet (PM) that generate a high torque and power capability appropriate for direct drive. The design has been analyzed with finite element analysis (FEA) using JMAG Designer solver as computer aided software. The result generated from software shows the ability of design to produce torque and power more than 21.16Nm and 4.6kW respectively
